Responsibilities

MaxLinear is seeking a Director of IT Software Engineering, DevOps to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on the following:

  • Create a strategy with a coherent plan, apply modern and resilient DevOps pattern, implement, and continuously improve an end2end DevOps engineering system
  • Direct all facets of DevOps practices, encompassing development, quality assurance, automation, and fostering a culture of innovation
  • Craft and implement new development tools and infrastructure aimed at enhancing efficiency and reliability
  • Assist in the valuation and research of complementary products and technologies, integrate AI-based software efficiency tools
  • Guide and inspire the global team towards a culture of perpetual growth and learning
  • Promote and document best practices, developing tools that empower the organization to create and deploy superior software
  • Utilize data to inform decision-making. Analyze data for trends and potential pain points and use this to prioritize and inform how to improve your engineering product
  • Work closely with other Software teams across the globe, develop in collaboration, and cross-site management of resources
  • Manage communication with various stakeholders and executive leadership to ensure alignment.
  • Should be able to motivate, discipline, and groom leaders and provide a constructive environment for the improvement of personal traits and technical skills
  • Keep the team informed and current on the company’s direction and roadmap
  • Manage hiring, training, and appraisals – rewards and recommends termination as necessary
  • Ensure that appropriate development and corporate methods and procedures are followed

Qualifications

  • A self-starter who bridges the gap between technology and strategic business outcomes, ensuring the delivery of products, features, and services that surpass expectations
  • Real-life DevOps transformation experience with end2end visibility of product development lifecycle, preferably in the semiconductor domain
  • Must be a highly technical and hands-on DevOps practitioner who can lead the engineering team with confidence and competency
  • Solid experience in software development, engineering, product and program management
  • Ability to influence, persuade, and direct sound technical and architectural choices across many teams
  • Needs to represent technical direction and architectures to everyone from new grads to C-level executive
  • Exceptional interpersonal, management, and decision-making capabilities
  • Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions
  • Experience with CI/ CD toolchain - Atlassian toolchain, Polarion, Octane, Big Picture, Klockwork, Artifactory, etc
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 13 years of experience, or MS + 11 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 8 years of experience

Compensation and Benefits

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

 

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of:  $159,500 to $247,595 Annually

 

We offer competitive benefits designed to support employee health, welfare, and retirement and some highlights are:  health care benefits, 401k savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), paid time off, and a hybrid work schedule.

 

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
