Director of Technical Marketing

MaxLinear is seeking a Director of Technical Marketing to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on working with customers to help translate their product evolution to high-level technical requirements. You will then guide the systems and engineering teams based on requirements and make a significant impact on both long term and near term roadmap decisions. You will also focus on the following:

• Drive and engage with customers on next gen product evolution and understand the overall architecture and requirements for the next gen products
• Capture customer requirements and influence long term and short term roadmap decisions
• Communicate with systems and architecture teams on customer requirements and help them validate their architecture and design descriptions
• Effectively communicate technical advantages of MaxLinear Wireless product portfolio
• Develop and maintain competitive analysis for MaxLinear products
• Identify industry trends relevant to wireless business and product portfolio
• Work with communications team to develop press release, whitepapers, and other non-NDA content
• Develop marketing collateral and train sales, customers, and business development teams
• Tight communication with development and customers on evolving product requirements during the product design cycle
• Familiarity with drafting and contributing to Market Requirements Documents (MRDs)
• Guide prioritization of customer support and feature requests
• Drive industry thought leadership including presenting at industry events (IWPC for example)
• Track relevant standards, including 3GPP and TM3
• Requires up to 50% travel

• Experience in microwave wireless backhaul and/or wireless 4G/5G access products
• Existing relationships with service providers and OEMs
• Prior experience in standards organizations is preferred but not required
• Written and maintained Market Requirements Document (MRDs), roadmap collateral
• Prior engineering experience in one or more of the following: wireless modem or embedded software development, ASIC development, wireless communication systems, 4G, 5G, and other related
• Strong project planning ability and Solid written and oral communication skills
• A team player with a demonstrated ability to achieve results
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 13 years of experience, or MS + 11 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 8 years of experience

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of:  $135,700 to $218,500  Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
