Responsibilities

MaxLinear is seeking a Physical Design Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on the following:

  • Build and manage Physical design team
  • Execute yearly appraisal of the team members
  • Lead the Physical design team’s execution through synthesis, physical design, timing closure, physical verification and power integrity signoff for block level and chip
  • Oversee the enhancement and maintenance of Place and Route, IR drop and physical verification scripts to establish best-in-class methodologies
  • Maintain a close collaboration across the company to ensure project execution and decision making
  • Provide updates on team and project execution

Qualifications

  • Hands on experience in EDA tools:
    • Synthesis (Genus/Fusion Compiler/Design Compiler)
    • Place and Route (Innovus/ICC2/Fusion Compiler/Aprisa)
    • Static Timing Analysis (Tempus/Primetime)
    • DRC&LVS (Calibre)
    • IR Drop Analysis (Voltus/Redhawk)
  • Analytical problem-solving skills to debug clock tree and timing closure
  • Proficiency in analyzing and resolving DRC and LVS problems
  • Ability to analyze and solve static and dynamic voltage drop, electro migration for chip
  • Experience with scripting using Tcl, Perl, Python and Unix shell script
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and mentoring skills
  • Solid communication skills to interact with multiple teams 
  • Team player with an eye on innovation and automation to reduce turnaround time
  • Experience with recruiting, hiring, and retaining teams
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 9 years of experience, or MS + 7 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 4 years of experience

Compensation and Benefits

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

 

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of:  $130,400 to $202,500 Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
