Responsibilities

MaxLinear is seeking a Senior Director of Digital Power and Mixed Signal Systems Architecture to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on the following: 

  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Provide strong technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the systems, product-architecture team, and system engineering
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish technology roadmaps, product strategies, and project plans aligned with MaxLinear’s overall business objectives
    • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and market demands to drive innovation in smart power, bridges product development, and architectures
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest level of quality
    • Define architecture, allocate resources, and manage risks effectively
    • Track progress, report status, and provide regular updates to executive management and stakeholders
  • Technical Excellence:
    • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in analog and mixed-signal semiconductor technologies and architectures, and apply this knowledge to enhance product performance and competitiveness
    • Knowledge of digital control loops in various applications of power management, power conversion, and high speed interface buffers and retimers
    • Knowledge of prototyping and emulation of various system simulations via FPGA
    • Drive the team to create and approve technical specifications, design documents, and test plans to ensure compliance with industry standards and MaxLinear's quality standards
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the architects
  • Team Development:
    • Recruit, train, and retain top engineering system architecture talent, building a high-performing and motivated INDUSTRIAL AND MULTIMARKET engineering team
    • Conduct performance evaluations, set individual and team goals, and facilitate career development opportunities for team members
    • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages open communication and teamwork
  • Customer and Partner Engagement:
    • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to understand customer requirements, market trends, and competitive landscapes to drive the development of customer-centric solutions.
    • Engage with key customers and strategic partners to build strong relationships, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for collaboration and co-development

Qualifications

  • Experience leading and managing architecture teams, with a track record of successfully delivering complex analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products to market
  • Knowledge of Industrial and Multimarket products in digital power, smart power, high speed data buffers and retimers
  • Understanding of the full product development lifecycle, from concept to production, and the ability to drive projects to successful completion
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with customers and partners
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 15 years of experience, or MS + 13 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 10 years of experience

Compensation and Benefits

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

 

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of:  $186,100 to $288,995 Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
